Day 11: Strawberry Basil Anti-Inflammatory Margarita


(Recipe part of the 30 Day Smoothie Challenge by Young and Raw)

  • 1 Lime, Juiced
  • Frozen Strawberries (I used 1 cup)
  • 4-6 leaves of Basil
  • ¼ Avocado *optional to add creamy texture
  • 1 tsp. Spirulina *optional (I used Wheatgrass powder)
  • 1 tbsp. Hemp Seeds or Chia Seeds (I used Chia)
  • 1 Cup Water or Coconut Water (I used Coconut water)

By reading the recipe I thought this one was going to be super delicious. I was disappointed finding that it’s actually a bit boring. I guess it requires either very sweet strawberries or maybe a bit of stevia. I tried adding 1/3 banana but it didn’t make much difference. It’s fresh, however doesn’t feel very “green”. My expectations were just too high.. 😉
